TSA offers a wide variety of events that students can choose from. Whether they aspire to be software engineers, fashion designers, or music producers, there are events suitable for all. Students are challenged to use and improve their STEM skills in both team and individual events in such areas as: communication, design and engineering, environmental systems, transportation, manufacturing, and construction. All competitions are aligned with STEM standards, ten core leadership skills, and The 16 Career Clusters.

TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science) is a one-day competition for students in middle and high school that allows them to apply their knowledge of skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to issues facing our global society. Focused on an annual theme, original academic and innovative concepts are developed for the competition based on the National Academy of Engineering's Grand Challenges. Engaging in the challenges requires critical job-readiness skills such as teamwork, analytical thinking, and multi-dimensional problem solving.
TSA is pleased to continue the partnership with the Verizon Foundation to offer the Verizon Innovative Learning App Challenge for the fifth consecutive year. The App Challenge is a competition for middle and high school students. Working with an adult sponsor, teams of five to seven students will use STEM skills, knowledge, ingenuity and creativity to develop and submit an original mobile app concept that addresses a real need or problem in their school or community.
